Grandparents’ day was held in our school on the 13th of February. It was a great day for the young and not so young. We had spent a couple of weeks preparing for it learning tin whistle tunes, traditional songs, writing poems, composing drama, cooking, dancing. It was all worth it in the end as we opened the day with a hymn ‘This is the Day’ with Harry playing the key board. we prayed together and read out our poems. At the end we got some valuable advice and got to ask some questions. We brought them out to our new GP room where we had tables laid out with all our baking. Laura entertained the grandparents with some dancing and the junior room students popped u to say hello. We try to run this every 2nd year, our grandparents’ board contained the names of those no longer with us but still in our memories.
