We had great fun and learned so much by seeing the reptiles in the flesh!
Enjoy this review it will give you a feel of what our day was like!
The Reptile Zoo visit to Clonfert N.S.
Today the reptile zoo visited our school at approximately 9:30 in the morning with different reptiles such as the python snake aka Nudge, Micheal the tortoise, a blue tongue lizard and the skin from a tarantula! Some people were scared but others were excited to touch the reptiles. We got to touch the snake first. It was a really unusual feeling that I’ve never felt before, he didn’t like when you touched his head or tail! He would bite if you did but luckily, he did not bite and he wasn’t poisonous. They kept him in a green bag so he wouldn’t get anxious or scared, the green bag then went in just a black box, he could breathe perfectly without getting nervous in the bag.
Next up we got to feel the tortoise Micheal who was venomous! Michael will not attack unless you touch his shell. You could just pet him like a pup. He roamed around the room giving everyone a chance to pet him. Next, we got to feel the skin from the tarantula. It was kind of freaky knowing that you were touching the skin of a spider. You could see where the spider hopped out of its skin, the skin is very delicate it could easily break if you rubbed it too hard.
Last, but not least we got to feel the blue tongue lizard. He also felt incredibly unique. I would say we asked about forty to fifty questions and they were all answered with lots of interesting facts. It went on from 9:30 to 12:45, it was well worth it and I’d love to do it again. My overall opinion was that it was amazing. I would highly recommend it to any school.
